Making: more time for little, at-home, pamper sessions at least a couple nights a week. I’m working on growing my shower goodies, scented candles and face mask collection so as to take this mini-spa treatment to the next level.

Eating: an apple a day. Or at least trying to.

Drinking: lots of ginger, lemon tea. Man, I’d forgotten how much of a punch ginger had until I got a cold and had to use all my guns not to let it take me down. But that ginger though. Damn.

Wanting: to work hard, make money, see the world. As aptly put by Bonang!

Playing: my latest video which is up on youtube! You can watch it here. And yes, that was a shameless plug.

Wasting: so much tissue. I can’t even begin to tell you just how much I’ve used to blow my nose once this cold hit me. Those tissue manufacturers have made a pretty penny off of me.

Creating: a bucket list of all the countries, cities and activities I’d like to do before I turn 30!

Wishing: I had a bicycle. I hadn’t ridden one in forever until this past weekend in Maasai Mara and I can’t tell you enough how much I enjoyed myself. Sure I fell flat on my face and was left with several bruises, sprained my wrist and lost some hair in the process but what’s life without some battle scars here and there?!

Enjoying: Art Cafe’s almond croissants a little too much. Oh gosh. Now I want one.

Wondering: if anyone has watched that video of the 17-year-old gorilla with the 4-year-old boy. If not, just click here. Pretty scary though, right? Any thoughts on whether the it was right for them to put him down?

Loving: The Americans. The show is really growing on me.

Hoping: that you are happy. And that you are feeling good about yourself and working hard to achieve your dreams. “Whatever goal you wish to reach, whatever problem you wish to solve, you are a specific number of steps away from doing so. Start now, keep going, and get it done.” ~Ralph Marston.

Marveling: at people who are able to keep their white shoes white.

Smelling: hardwood. I had a console made which was delivered a couple days ago and now the smell of wood and paint is still lingering in my living room.

Wearing: my ThisIsEss for Vivo body suit and a pair of tights! I’m not kidding, I gravitate towards the bodysuit every time I reach into my closet. It’s just so effortless and comfortable and I’m truly obsessed.

Following: Tracee Ellis Ross on Instagram. I think she’s such a ball of life and energy. She seems to be so comfortable in her own skin and I really admire that. Did you watch her rock the stage at the Black Girls Rock awards? A ball of life I tell you; a massive ball of life.

Noticing: that I have a real soft spot for home decor. Not that I’m an expert but I’m loving being able to find/make pieces here and there that – as Nate Berkus would say – will make the space that I call home rise up to greet me.

Knowing: that I’m just not meant to have super long nails. I’ve been getting gel nail polish done for a while and that helped my nails grow really long but towards the end there I was bumping into things and nearly ripping my nails off my finger. I’m too clumsy for that. Bummer.

Feeling: excited that I finally got to go to Maasai Mara! 27 years later… Gosh. I don’t know why it took me so long to be honest. Can’t wait to share all the pictures and video footage from my trip! Stay tuned.

Bookmarking: Casey Neistat for being a beast when it comes to making YouTube videos. He puts up a video every single day and seeks adventure in everything he does. That’s ridiculous commitment and incredibly inspiring. We could all use a little Neistat energy in what we’re doing, don’t you think?

Opening: up to the idea of embracing fun prints again. I remember there was a time I was completely obsessed with them but then I sort of moved to solid colours – at least that’s what most of my wardrobe says. I’m now being called back to my love for fun prints again and I’m not complaining.

Giggling: at this video of James Corden being amazing at what he does!! Hilarious. If only the world was filled with variations of James Corden and Ellen Degeneres.

Feeling: a little tired but grateful for the things I have in my life and what I’ve been able to accomplish thus far.

Love and love.

Taking stock is your online journal. I love reading it because it’s infectious with inspiration plus it is always filled with an attitude of gratitude. I think this is why you have excelled so far. Could you also do a post how do you balance your career and personal life?

Finally following you on Snapchat (I couldn’t get it on my previous phone – Fakeberry, as my one friend called it) and saw how long it took to put up that video, yikes! Keep ’em coming, the quality is perfection! There has to be a way I can get involved in your Vivo collection *sigh*

The video of that 17 year old gorilla and the 4 year old boy freak me out! As a mother of a boisterous 1 and half year old little girl, my partner showed me that video on his facebook (I don’t have a facebook) and before he did he explained there was a massive debate on whether they did the right thing. When I saw that beast drag that poor little munchkin around like a rag doll I just screamed out (like a mad woman) “KILL IT, KILL IT”! And I was not ashamed and I stand by my reaction because if you even consider that the gorilla though at 17 years old probably weighed more than an average HEALTHY adult man. The way that beast was dragging that child it was even a miracle he survived with very minor injuries. I appauld the zoo keepers for taking that decision for ending that beasts life before it went on to do it again, and maybe even killing someone.

Gorillas are endangered that’s why some people were upset that they put him down. But I do agree with you, the boy could have been drowned in that pool. They did the right thing.

  13. Casey Neistat is the god of vlogging!

  14. I know people love animals but when it comes to human life, I would say human life first. So I believe they did the right thing. I am talking from a mum’s perspective, So if it was my child I would have prefered for my child’s life to be saved. Tissue manufactures made money out of you, funny but true though. Great post by the way Sharon as always

    • Sharon says:

I agree, it was such a scary thing to watch. I can’t imagine how the mum must have felt watching her kid being dragged like that.

This was good to read. Sorry about your cold! I’m with you on the body suit thing. These days, that’s all I want to wear. And the nails, I don’t like them super long, but I love a decent length manicure. Not so much into spas, but maybe I should actually consider pampering myself at-home.
