I have a long-standing love affair with the beach. Even though my skin may not agree (I always break out when I’m in hot/humid weather), the rest of my body, mind and spirit is awakened whenever I have the chance to experience crashing waves, sandy toes and salty air.

As fate would have it, I got to visit Diani twice in the past two months and both of my trips were hosted by Diani Reef Beach Resort & Spa. That being said, my two experiences couldn’t have been more different.

The first time round, it was I was with Tatiana and her daughter, Olive, so we didn’t have a lot of things packed into our days. In fact, the only thing that we stuck to like clockwork was showing up for the 4 o’ clock tea set up (if you tried theirΒ cake and pancakes, you’d understand). It was the perfect, most relaxed trip I could have asked for.

The second trip was packed with adventure; from spotting dolphins, to being chased by monitor lizards (you’ve got to watch the video to understand) and exploring all that this coastal town has to offer. It was absolutely incredible! It allowed me to dive into my adventurous side which is something I’ve come to really treasure. After all, isn’t life measured by our experiences?

Many thanks to Diani Reef for an experience to remember and a special thanks to the staff who were so attentive and lovely to me and my family!
